There is a family in Ft. Meyers Florida living in a 32 story condo building by themselves. They bought it right about the time that the real estate market crashed. They closed on their condo but everyone else either backed out or their financing fell through. Cam you imagine how creepy it is to be the only ones in that huge building? There have got to be some strange noises in an empty building like that.

I Love Zappos
I love Zappos. I had to say that because as much as I talk about shopping online I don't think I mention them much. Maybe it is because they are such a stand by for me that I forget to talk about them. I use them for accessories, shoes, clothing and even sunglasses. My favorite pair of 7 for All Mankind jeans came from there.
I have my heart set on a particular Tommy Bahama swimsuit and I haven't been able to find it locally in my size. I went to Zappos this morning and there it was, exactly what I was looking for. I can pretty much count on them having whatever kind of clothing that I am looking for. I wonder why I even bother looking elsewhere?

Thinking About Veneers
I am thinking about veneers for my upper teeth. I had braces when I was young but they still are not as straight as I would like for them to be.
It is my understanding that dental veneers can cover up imperfections like that without grinding or shots. I have to admit that I am scared of just about everything that goes on in the dental office, so no grinding is a big deal to me. A side benefit will be that I can get them whiter too so I will be getting two for one. I never thought I would be saying this but cosmetic dentistry is on my want list and climbing steadily.

Too Late, As Usual
It looks like we are too late for the Cash for Clunkers program. LOL We always procrastinate too long. My husband has a beat up 99 Jeep that he uses to to fishing in and he said that he might trade it in. Now I am hearing that the plan has already run out of funds. I guess everyone jumped right on it. Oh well, he will have to keep fishing in his beat up car. It's just as well, a new one would have been smelling like fish within a month.

PDF Heaven
I have found the answer to my Word to PDF dilemma. I have a client who wants me to submit my work in PDF format and I usually work in Word. My dilemma was that I didn't have any software that I could use as a PDF writer and I didn't want to spend a lot of money.
I found a download of PDF software that is free and does everything that I want it to do. Now I can create, edit write, convert, read or anything else I want to do to a PDF file. It looks very simple to use and I can not wait to get rolling with it. Now I will not hesitate to take jobs that require working in PDF.

Baby Clothes
I am still in shopping mode for designer baby clothes. My friend is coming down for a visit in a few weeks and I plan to spend all of my time playing dress up with her darling little baby girl. I can't wait to get my hands on her. I want to dress her up in the Appaman twirly skirt that is on it's way and watch her dance.
Have you seen the clothes by Barefoot Dreams? The little baby hoodies are the cutest things I have seen in a while. They look so cuddly. And speaking of cuddly things, I think she needs a new cuddle buddy from Jellycat. They have an adorable stuffed penguin that will be the perfect companion to the dog I bought for her when she was born.

Back and Refreshed
We are back from out little one night mini vacation. I find it surprising how refreshed I feel after just one day away from home. All it takes is a little change in routine and surroundings and I feel like I am ready to get back to work. My husband and I both agree that we need to start doing this at least once a month.

Mattress Shopping
It is amazing how much difference a good mattress can make to how you feel. I have been waking up with a stiff back and didn't really think about what was causing it. Then I spent the night at a friend's house on a new mattress and realized that my problem is our mattress.
I am on a mission to find a good mattress. The people at SD Mattress are very helpful. They take the time to explain everything to you so that you can make the right decision. You can ask them anything about mattresses and get a straight answer. They also don't push you to make a decision. I like it when a store let's me make a decision in my own time.

Web Hosting
I know it is tempting to always go with the cheapest service that you can find, especially in this economy, but it doesn't always pay. I am currently looking for a new hosting plan for my web sites. The last time I signed up for one I simply chose the cheapest and didn't pay any attention to what services they offered or what kind of reviews they were getting. That was a big mistake.
This time I am spending time at WebHostingGeeks.com and looking for a web hosting provider with a good review. I found the post on their blog about web hosting types very informative. The site as well as the blog has a wealth of information on hosting to help you figure out what it all means. I've learned a lot about dedicated server hosting, multiple domain hosting and even green web hosting. Who knew there was such a thing as green web hosting?
Even though I am looking for a good quality hosting provider, I am not planning to spend a lot of money. The site at WebHostingGeeks gives the top ten hosts with fees under $10. I will be able to get quality and a good price. They also tell you exactly what each one offers.

Another Mini Vacation
My husband and I have decided to take another one of our mini vacations. We have been enjoying one and two night trips away this summer instead of a big week long one. Tomorrow we are going to head over to one of our favorite sleepy little beach towns. It's probably one of the last undiscovered places in Florida. I would tell you the name but then it might not stay undiscovered. LOL

Almost Time for Football
My husband has already started talking about the NFL Sunday ticket schedule. I think he would be happier if they played football all year long instead of restricting it to a season.
At least he has a hobby that keeps him at home and I don't have to worry about where he is. My friend's husband golfs and she says he spends a ton of money on memberships and fees. Compared to that the NFL Sunday ticket price is a bargain. I am happy for him to buy his NFL Sunday ticket and spend his time in his recliner in front of the television.

The Urge to Shop
I think I need some retail therapy. I feel like I haven't been shopping in ages. Most of my shopping has been online lately and it just isn't the same as going out to the stores. I think I need to go fondle some Designer Inspired Handbags & Accessories to satisfy my urge. A new handbag always makes me feel better.

Fizzy Milk, Eww
The Coca-Cola company is experimenting with a new drink. It is a fizzy milk based concoction. My initial reaction is ewww. Fizzy milk just does not sound appealing. It makes me think of spoiled milk. The report says that they have been selling a similar drink in Japan for years so maybe I am the only one turned off by this. Then again, the Japanese eat live octopus.

Shopping for 5.11 Tactical Pants
I am so excited; I found a blog that reviews 5.11 tactical pants. I seem to be in a family full of people who are in professions that wear tactical pants for work. Since I am known as the shopper in the family they are always asking me to find them some better gear or a better fitting pair of pants. Now I have a blog to visit and find out what is being said about tactical wear. It's called TacticalPants.com. I think I may keep it to myself and let them all think that I'm brilliant when it comes to finding new professional clothing for them.

I Love Vans
I just arrived back home from helping a friend pick up some chairs at a local consignment shop. She has a van and it was so easy to pop all of the chairs in and be ready to go. I think vans are even more useful than pickup trucks. With a pickup you have to be worried about the weather and things getting dirty.
My love affair with vans began in the UK when I used to go on antique buying trips there. My friend Kate, who lives in London, would drive me to all the sales in her van. She taught me all about how things are done in the UK.
She's in the antique trade so she has Motor Trade Insurance for her vehicle. Things are the same as they are here, prices can vary greatly. You really need to find a reliable place to get your quotes from. She has informed me all about the website where she gets her insurance. It's called AutoNet Insurance Group. They price check all of the other big carriers so you don't have to worry about finding a better deal somewhere else. They also have a 24 hour claims line. If you are in the UK and need insurance, be sure to check them out.

Kendra
I am ready to admit another one of my guilty pleasures. I like to watch Kendra. I don't know what it is about the goofy blonde but somehow I've gotten hooked on her show. Now that I've seen her mother I can pretty much see why she's so crazy. I'd be crazy too with a mother like that. That woman is so hateful to her, if I were Kendra I think I'd cut the ties.

Bundles of Cuteness

I am so excited. One of my best girlfriends is coming to town with her baby girl. I am a real sucker for any baby, but I especially love baby girls. They are so much fun to dress up.
I have been online today shopping for baby clothes to dress her up in while they are here. I found the coolest site wit retro baby clothes. Her mom and I always had a thing for Wonder Woman. We loved to play like we had super powers. This site I found has an adorable dress with Wonder Woman on it. I can't wait to see her in it or to see her mother's face when she see it. This is going to be so much fun!

It's a Small Town
We live in a small town and things are fairly quiet. Unfortunately, crime has been picking up here. I guess it is a sign of the times and crime is increasing everywhere.
My husband and I have been discussing Home Security Systems. We had an ADT Security System in our last house. Home break ins were pretty much unheard of in this area seven years ago. I have been seeing more and more reports in the local newspaper about people breaking into cars and houses.
This morning my neighbor told me that there was a break in 3 blocks from us in our subdivision. That was enough for me. It's time for us to get serious about Home Security and get a system installed. I think it will help put my mind at ease.

Twitter-rific
I am so addicted to twitter! I am finding myself wanting to twitter more than I want to blog. Actually, I am finding that when I come to blog I feel like I have already said everything on twitter. Wonder if Twittering is going to be the death of blogging? I'm starting to think that the realm of personal blogs is going to shrink drastically in the near future.

Playing It Safe
The stock market has rebounded a little but I still think that playing it safe is the way to go with money right now. I found a site to help me find the highest CD rates. The internet allows you to check the rates of banks all over the country, not just ones that are in your local area.

A Relief
My husband's back surgery went well Monday. He was released from the hospital this morning and we are going to hang out here for a day or two. I don't want to start the drive home until he says he feels good. He would probably butch up and say for us to go today but I told him that is not an option. I am thinking Friday will be the day.

It's Been A Long One Already
It seems like it has been a long summer already. Usually they fly by but this year it seems to be dragging along. I think it is because we did not schedule a vacation until later in the summer. We are joining my husband's family for a reunion.
I think helping my sister in law check out Myrtle Beach Hotels early this summer put me in the mood too soon. She didn't know anything about Myrtle Beach accommodations so I volunteered to help her. My husband and I have spent a lot of time there and have always had good luck with whichever Myrtle Beach accommodation we selected.
After his back surgery next week I am going to need a vacation more than ever. Taking care of a sick man is like taking care of a child.

Watches
I think watches are becoming my favorite kind of jewelry accessory. They come in all kinds of colors and styles. You can get a fun $20 knock around watch all the way up to a diamond crusted platinum one for thousands of dollars.
My collect seems to be growing daily. The only problem is that I seem to keep buying dressy ones. Dress watches are very pretty but I get worried about wearing them for everyday. I don't want to risk damaging them. In addition they are too dressy for my shorts and flip flops that are the uniform here in Florida.
Since my watch wardrobe is lacking in watches for casual, everyday wear I am looking at watches online today. You know how I am, if it's Saturday I am shopping. I was just looking at a cute timex watch that would be perfect to wear when I go for my walks. There were also a couple of Kenneth Cole watches that caught my eye. One in particular would be very cute with the Coach everyday bag that I have been carrying lately. They look like they were made for each other. I think I will be placing an order for a couple of new watches by the end of the day.

Wish Us Luck
I am online trying to distract myself because we leave town tomorrow for my husband's surgery. He is having a fairly new procedure done on his back. Nobody is performing it in our area so we are traveling to get it done. I know he will be fine but hospitals always scare me, there are so many germs and diseases floating around that sometimes something unexpected happens. He had surgery on his foot a couple of years ago and wound up with a bone infection. Ugh. I'm scaring myself. Keep your fingers crossed for him.

Investing
The markets are still up and down but I think it is time to cautiously jump back into some stock trading. I would hate to look back a year from now and wish that I had done it.
I plan to do a lot of research with an online broker before I spend a penny. Online trading is the most economical way to go and I get as much support and information as I used to get with a full service broker. I probably get more, my old broker pretty much just wanted to tell me what I should do and have me say yes. Once I decided that I wanted to know more I switched and I have had more success than with him.

Lighting Matters
It is amazing to me how much lighting can change a room. I recently added under cabinet lighting in my kitchen and it not only changed the whole atmosphere, it really improved my visibility when working. I can't believe I waited so long to do it. Now I am eyeing the built in bookcase in the family room. It has always been a dark spot. I know I can find something in the hera lighting line that will brighten things up. I think I may go with LED because it is so energy efficient. I am trying to go green in the house where ever I can.

Creepy
I am glad that I live on the Gulf of Mexico and not on the Pacific ocean. I love going in the water but I think I would stay out of it if it was full of giant squid like it is off San Diego right now. The humbolt squid, which are aggressive, showed up in shallow waters and have been chasing and attacking divers. Those things are so creepy looking I'd freak out.

Shopping for Eyeglasses

I am shopping for eyeglasses this morning. There are so many different styles and colors to choose from that I treat them kind of like purses. One pair just won't do, I need glasses in every color to go with all my outfits.
The reason that I can do that is Zenni Optical has outrageously good prices on all kinds of eyeglasses. They are so inexpensive that I can have a pair in every color for the price of one designer handbag. How cool is that? Before I found them the cost of one pair of glasses was so much I only had a couple of pairs. If I have to choose between glasses and a new purse the purse always wins. But now I don't have to.
This morning I went to Zenni Optical looking for a pair of green glasses and I found the perfect pair. They are the perfect color green and have the prettiest littlewhite flowers on the sides. I can't wait to see them in person. If you wear glasses don't hesitate to order from them. My prescriptions have always been filled perfectly, the glasses fit well and they arrive in good time. Since I'm at it, I think I'll order a new pair of sunglasses too.

They Get a Lot of Bashing
I know that in some arenas it is popular to bash lawyers, but I wanted to say how very important they are. Put yourself in the position of being accused of a crime. Can you imagine how frightening and confusing it would be? Then think about how much worse it would be if we didn't have lawyers to guide us and defend us. If you would like to find out more about a great law firm check out the Los Angeles Criminal Defense Lawyer Blog. They are known for sticking by their clients and doing whatever it takes to keep them out of jail.

It Just Gets Worse
The latest news about the people who killed the couple in Pensacola is even worse than originally thought. What happened was bad enough but everyone thought that it was a disorganized home invasion gone wrong. Now it seems that a group of men practiced and planned this for a month! One of them is a member of the Air Force. Their target was a safe in the house. The knew exactly what they were doing and had planned everything. How sick is that? This is all too disgusting to think about. I'm just glad that they DIDN'T plan on the couple having video surveillance in the house. Karma can really suck sometimes, can't it?

I Found It!
I am so excited, I found a place on the web to watch One Tree Hill episodes. I didn't watch it at first but now I am hooked and want to know what went on before. For anyone who wants to see any of the past seasons they have seasons one through 6 on OneTreeHillsTVShows.com.

Back Home
We are back home for a few days after a short trip. My husband had to go for pre-op for the back surgery he is having next week at Shands Hospital. I guess I will be writing like crazy for a few days to make up for the days off. My article orders are staking up.
I'm taking my laptop with me next week, the waiting room has wireless access in the waiting room. At least I can try and earn a little to pay off the credit card charges we will be racking up while we are there.

It's So Easy
I found another reason to love Direct TV. They make it very easy to transfer your service when you move to another state. Moving is enough of a hassle without having to deal with a new cable company and fees and getting hooked up.
When you are ready to move you go to the MyTVOptions.com website and look up the state you are going to. Say you want to know about Direct TV in Florida. The site will tell you everything that you need to know about moving to Florida and how to move your service. They will tell you what to do with your dish and receivers and how to set up service at your new home.
Dealing with Directv is so easy your kids could do it, or even your husband. :)

Summer Is Half Over
I can't believe that summer is practically half over already. We haven't had a vacation yet and I am really looking forward to going to an oceanfront Myrtle Beach Hotel for a get away.
The family has scheduled a mini family reunion this simmer at a Myrtle Beach Hotel that my mother in law selected. I don't know anything about it but I am sure it will be fabulous. The part about seeing my mother in law probably will not be fabulous, but I guess I can't have everything.
All of the oceanfront Myrtle Beach hotels that we have visited in the past have been great. We started going there not long after we got married. It may sound weird for people from Florida to go to a beach for vacation but we love it. The atmosphere is very different than it is here.

Tragedy in Pensacola
I am heartbroken by what I read in the paper this morning. A couple here in north Florida were murdered in their home. That is tragic enough. What makes it more tragic is that they have spent the last 20 years adopting and raising disabled children, they dedicated their lives to helping children that others did not want. There were 14 children in the home when the murders occurred. He is a wealthy business man and the motive was probably robbery. I hope there's a special place in hell for the perpetrators of this crime.

I Love Car Shopping
I know this is the accessory blog but I have decided that I love car shopping. It was so much fun shopping for my Jeep last month that now I'm volunteering to help my friends buy cars. This was my first experience buying a used car. The price and low mileage were great and I found exactly the car I wanted.
Today I am looking at Used cars Orem Utah for my former neighbor. She moved there not long ago and needs a car. She told me she needs to save money so she wants a used car. She has never bought one before so I am helping her through the process. I am even trying to talk her into selling her old car herself; she will get so much more money for it that way.

Engaged!
I am so excited to say that one of my good friends is engaged. They are perfect for each other. He did an excellent job of picking out the engagement ring. He asked for my opinion on jewelers a while ago, specifically Blue Nile. I told him that they have a great reputation.
After we talked about it I couldn't resist taking a look at the engagement rings myself. The selection is wonderful. They have hundreds of rings and diamonds in every size. The way it works is that you pick a diamond and then select the ring to mount it in. They have a great information area that explains all about diamonds so that you can understand the quality and cut that you are buying.

Think I'm Glad I Live In Florida
After seeing the cost of apartments in New York City I am glad that I live in Florida. There is a story today that says that Madoff's wife has been apartment shopping. She was kicked out of their other homes when they were seized by the government. Their NYC penthouse was 4,000 square feet. She looked at a 475 sq foot apartment that sells for $495,000. My garage has more square footage than that.

Remote Access with Security
Does your business run its own tech support? How do you handle support if you have more than one location or employees who travel? You might cover it with multiple technicians in multiple locations or contract out the remote location work. You no longer have to go that route. If your business has computers and employees in more that one place all of the tech support can be handled from one location via remote access.
There are other applications available but the best remote access software out there is Proxy Pro 6. This business application has state of the art 256-bit encryption. Privacy and security are not an issue when Proxy Pro 6 is used. Your company's technicians can support computers from numerous locations with confidence when using it. You can also customize and control who has access to what.
In addition to using Proxy Pro for tech support this software allows employees to work together remotely in virtual meetings as well as share files. It can be used to access information on a computer within the network even if it is unattended. This is only the beginning of the benefits. If this sounds like it could be of benefit to your company be sure to check it out.

More Ceiling Fan Shopping
I am still working on redecorating the guest room. My next project is to replace the light fixture with a ceiling fan. It's always hot here in Florida and I love sleeping under ceiling fans so I always put one in our bedrooms.
After doing some looking at the Hanson Wholesale site I am torn between a couple of Casablanca ceiling fans and a fan by Fanimation. Both of these lines have some cool tropical looking fans that would be a perfect fit with our Florida cottage style house. Hanson Wholesale Ceiling Fans has the best selection that I could find. Now if I could just make up my mind I could place an order and get this project going.

Last Day
I am so glad that the Michael Jackson memorial is today. I don't think I can stand to hear Thriller or Bad or that awful new song many more times. I realize he is a huge star to many but the coverage has been over the top. With the controversy over the drugs and his will the subject won't be going away entirely but at least I hope to not see it covered endlessly after today.

Toaster Shopping
I am happy to say that my toaster died. That may sound weird but I hated it. This time I am taking my time to find a good one. I have been reading the reviews at ToasterOvenGuide.com for a classic toaster. I don't want bells and whistles. I don't want it to do anything except do an excellent job of toasting breads and bagels. I want it to toast evenly on both sides and do it in a reasonable amount of time.

Decorating the Walls
I have been shopping around online for some Canvas Art Prints for the guest room. I'm trying to make it look more like a bedroom and less like a home office. I prefer canvas prints to glass framed art, it looks more like an authentic piece of art to me.
I found some great pieces at SimplyArtwork.com. There are several canvas prints by Rodney White that I love. Most of his prints have sayings on them. Since that is already an ongoing theme in our house his work would fit right in. I think the one titled "Nothing to Dream" is perfect for a bedroom. And I know I'm shopping for the guest room but I may not be able to resist "Bitch Whine". It is so appropriate for our bar area!

Back to Reality
The holiday is over and the house guests are gone. The house is feeling kind of empty. We had a great time. The guys smoked meat on the smoker so they were happy. Us girls hung out in the kitchen and pretended to cook. :) After dinner we went down to the beach and watched the impromptu fireworks show. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. There was a full moon, a nice breeze and clear skies. You could see the fireworks all the way down the beach.

So Important
I know I've mentioned previously that I had weight loss surgery. It was absolutely the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I would do it again in a heartbeat. The only down side is the excess skin that is left over, especially in my abdomen.
I would love to get a tummy tuck. It has been on my mind for a while. A tummy tuck will not only get rid of the excess skin from losing weight it can tighten up the abdominal muscles. The most important thing for me is finding the right surgeon. When I sign up for surgery I am literally putting my life in the surgeon's hands. Once I find one that I am confident in I will travel to wherever he conducts his practice.
A great example of an excellent cosmetic surgery center is Mya Cosmetic Surgery in the United Kingdom. The medical team there has had more than 25 years of experience in the cosmetic surgery field. Besides tummy tucks they are experienced in all aspects of cosmetic surgery. I am beginning to think I need a trip to the UK. While I'm there maybe I'll look into a face lift as well.

It's Not Getting Better
I know we were hearing predictions that the economy would start turning around by the end of year and things would get better. But I think it was all wishful thinking. The latest unemployment figures are in and we are at almost 10%. The figures have not been that bad since the 70's.
Another sign of our economic problems is the huge number of Americans that are behind on their taxes and in trouble with the IRS. There was a story about Tax Relief network on Yahoo News not long ago. They help people when it comes time to deal with the IRS.
The number of cases of tax fraud has gone way up. People are hurting for money and they are trying to get it any way that they can. Also rising are the number of cases of just ordinary people who have lost their job or home and gotten into financial trouble and just can't pay their taxes. Everyone knows that dealing with the IRS on your own is the wrong way to go, at least it is if you want a fair outcome. They will steamroll right over you. You need to have someone on your side like Tax Relief who knows how to fight back and get you a fair deal. I just hope that the economy turns around soon.

Enough Already
I've had enough of the whole Michael Jackson thing already. His family can't even decide where to put the man into the ground. His father is so busy trying to make money from his death that he can't be bothered with it. No wonder the guy was so screwed up, look at where he came from. I just feel sorry for his kids, sorry that they have to be raise in a dysfunctional family like that. The whole thing is a mess.

My Garden
My husband and I decided to rework our front flower beds this year. We have a circular drive and the area within the circle is all plantings. It was a lot of work but it is looking great. We went with all native plants and are using organic products.
We live a couple of blocks from the beach and we love the environment here. We decided that it was up to us to do what we can to protect it. All of those chemicals that we used to use are so dangerous and I worry about residual effects, if not to us directly then to the animals and insects that call this place home.
Organic gardening is no more difficult that other gardening once you get the hang of it. There are wonderful products available. It's not like in the past when you had to rely on old home recipes and trial and error. Safer brand has a complete line of organic pest controls and gardening supplies, you can find them almost anywhere. I like visiting their site because they have a great reference section on plant diseases, pests and gardening tips. I've been reading about their rose products, I am tempted to start a rose garden next year. Even if they aren't native.

Shopping Information In One Place
I love shopping on the internet but it can turn into a real time waster. I can spend hours searching for the right site to purchase what I am looking for. If you feel the same way I have something to share with you, it's a site that collects all of the information in one place.
When I am shopping for something specific like video games I want to be able to find and compare them easily. ShopWikki.co.uk has exactly that. Unlike a lot of sites, they show every shopping site, not just ones that pay to be there. They are more like a true search engine for shopping. There are also great buying guides. If I want to know about buying a Nintendo Wii all I have to do is visit their site.

Still No News
There is still no good news on the 10 year old girl missing in Washington state. She left my friend's house Friday night to walk home and disappeared. The story has now gone national. I watched it with sadness on the Nancy Grace show the past two nights. Why do so many of our children go missing? It's all so sad.

I Like Any Kind of Shopping
I know I blog a lot about shopping for purses and jewelry but I enjoy other kinds of shopping as well. For instance, I do all of the gadget shopping for the house. My husband just wants to play with it when it gets here.
I have spent the morning shopping at Geeks.com. My shopping goal today was to find him a new netbook. He has been jealous ever since I got mine. Geeks.com has wonderful deals and they have a netbook that is perfect right on the front page.
They offer great prices because they sell direct to the public. They have developed such a good reputation that they get first shot at a lot of manufacturer closeouts and overruns. I like that Geeks.com has excellent ratings at consumer rating sites like ResellerRatings.

Help Sorting Through
It drives my husband crazy but I am somewhat of a match maker. I love to see people paired up and can't resist introducing people that I think would be good together. And if I do not have someone to match them with I still try to help them find someone. One of my favorite ways to do this is to help them find a dating site that they like. The good news is that I have a new tool in my arsenal!
It's called Prime Dating Sites and it reviews dating and matchmaking sites and online personals sites. You can look up sites like Perfect Match and read a full review of it. The review explains what they offer, the registration process and how it works. If you want to go the personals route they tell you exactly what the site you are considering does and how it works.
Prime Dating Sites is very well laid out and easy to navigate. For example, if I wanted to meet people in my area I could use the information there. I have a house guest coming for the July 4th holiday this weekend. I think I know what I will be showing him while he is here.

Hitting Close to Home
A fellow writer has been sharing her story with me and I am so worried. Her daughter's best friend, 10 years old, disappeared Friday night. She was walking from my friend's house to her own home. They live 5 blocks apart. She never made it home. My friend is mad with worry and grief. And guilt. She doesn't drive but she now feels like she should have walked her home even though the child called her mother prior to leaving. The story has now made it to the Nancy Grace show, I watched it last night with sadness in my heart.

Bed Shopping
I have decided to finally do something with the guest bedroom. It has been needing an overhaul for a while. My husband uses it for his home office occasionally and we have ignored the guest part of it. It is a large room and there's space for both a sleeping area and his desk without being crowded.
His desk is contemporary so I am looking at contemporary beds. There's a site called Time4Sleep with some that I have been drooling over. The Lavina is exactly what I had in mind. It has clean lines and does not take up much space visually. I especially like the color and the chocolate leather headboard. I am also tempted by the Tuscany ottoman bed. The whole mattress is on a frame that lifts up revealing a huge space for storage underneath. It would make an ideal spot for storing all of my quilts. It is all upholstered in chocolate leather. The shape puts me in mind of a sleigh bed but not as curvy. I think either one would fit into the room nicely. They would blend in with the masculine feel that is already present with his desk as well as the colors that are already there.
