Doing My Part

My brother and I moved my parents to a retirement village in Texas to be near him late last year. My father broke his hip and was having difficulty getting around and my mother has health issues as well. Most of the duties of taking care of them falls to him since he lives close to them but I try to do my part when I can. Today my part is finding the style of men pants that my father likes to wear. We all know that I am known as the shopper in the family!

I have found some that should be perfect at Blair.com. They offer a wide select of styles from casual to jeans to dress pants in their men's section. The site has something for just about everyone including pets. The trick is staying away from those tabs and staying focused on men's wear for today.

He may be old but he is very particular about the style and type of clothes that he will wear. Comfort is his number one issue and at his age he has earned the right to wear whatever he wants to wear. His requirements for slacks include side elastic and easy care. My mother is beyond spending her time ironing things. They need things that are wash and wear.

He does not wear jeans so he needs a good wardrobe of casual pants to wear for every day activities. He is old school and believes in wearing slacks and a button shirt. He does not even do golf shirts. I think he is going to be thrilled with the John Blair mens pants that I have selected. They meet all of his requirements and from the pictures they look nice as well. He is going to be the best looking man in the retirement village.

The Inn Is Open

It looks like the annual booking for summer vacation at my house has begun. So far my college roommate is coming to visit with her two daughters are due here the end of the month. My brother and his family are coming sometime in June. My cousin wants to come but doesn't have his vacation schedule yet. When you live at the beach like me you never lack for company in the summer! My new kitchen will be put to the test over the summer.

Settling In

I've been using my new kitchen for several weeks now. It's truly a joy to use and I am so glad that we did the renovation. Kitchens seem to set the tone for a home and ours has hit just the right note.

I delayed buying new things until I had used it for a while to see what I really needed. I'm glad I did because I have changed my mind about a few things. My eye is now on a JK Adams spice rack as well as a JK Adams cutting board. I love all of the JK Adams kitchenware. Their style fits into my new kitchen perfectly as well as being very useful. My only problem will be avoiding buying everything I like instead of just what I need.

I Think It's Here

I was really enjoying the spring weather when all of a sudden it feels like summer! That's what happens in Florida, there's no gentle change. The good part is that it has inspired me to finish shopping for the patio furniture that we need.

We are giving our outdoor living areas a face lift. Besides getting some much needed new furniture I am looking at setting up a play center for when the grand kids visit. They are all at the age where they enjoy that kind of thing.

I'm accomplishing it all by using ShopWiki.com. The site gathers information from all sites, not just ones that advertise or pay to be included. When I'm happy with our outdoor space I'm going to move on to finding a new GPS for my husband's birthday. He's hopeless at directions.

Fishing Again

Everything finally came together for my husband to go fishing in the gulf again. The seas were perfect, the sun was shining and the skies were blue. They had a great day and came back with lots of grouper. We had a delicious dinner last night and I have plans for fish tacos today. I hope this isn't the last trip, the oil from the spill is still gushing and it could come our way. Everyone keep their fingers crossed that they get the leak capped soon.
